Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born. The care and education offered by our setting helps children to continue to do this by providing all of the child with interesting activities that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards for prompting learning, development and safety of children from birth to five years in Ofsted registered settings. The EYFS lays down the legal requirements that we must meet, including:
- learning and development requirements: specific areas of learning and development which shapes the activities and experiences we offer
- assessment requirements: how we measure childrens progress and feedback to the parents
- safeguarding and welfare requirements: what we must do to keep children safe and promote their welfare
